Combined graduate level exam organised every year to shortlist candidates for group B & C vacancies in various ministries and departments of Indian Government. Every year SSC, the exam conducting body issues an official notification containing exam dates, number of vacancies, recruitment process, etc on their official website.
After completion of the Application form process, the body issues Admit card, separate admit cards are issued for Tier-I followed by Tier-IIcards, candidates qualifying Tier-I exam are only eligible for Tier-II Exam. The conducting body releases SSC CGL answer keyon its official website along with the result for the aspirants in case of any discrepancy the candidate must report the same to the authority within the mentioned time frame.

The Exam is conducted in 4 different stages. The 4 Tier Exam is only applicable to certain posts. The first two Tiers are online multiple-choice based followed by Tier 3 subjective round conducted offline and the last skill-based Tier 4.

The candidates need to complete the exam in 60 minutes and carry 100 marks. Paper is for only for the candidates applying for the “Statistical Investigator Grade-II” & “Compiler”.
Tier-4 syllabus
The paper is only conducted to test the skills required for certain Government Posts throughout India.
- Data Entry Speed Test is organised exclusively for the candidates applying for the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax), carried out to test the typing speed of the aspirant. Candidates need to type 2000 words in 15 minutes to clear the taste.
• Computer Proficiency Test includes three modules Generation of slides, Word Processing, and Spread Sheets, important for this exam and the authority seeks a proficient candidate for the posts like MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Examiner), CSS.
Result and Selection process
The candidates can check the result of each stage separately once the Staff Selection Commission announces it. It is directly uploaded on the official website and thecandidate’s selection for the personal interview and final round is strictly on performance of the aspirant. The qualified aspirants are then recruited to the various posts in the departments.
